I am a Limited License Master Social Worker who specializes in PTSD and trauma for youth and adults. I have experience providing CBT interventions for grief, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and stressful life adjustments. My background includes over 9 years of experience working with youth and families struggling with displacement, navigating the child welfare system, and restorative relationship practices for at home or school. I enjoy working with children over the age of 5 years old, as well as adults.
I recognize the importance of selecting a support person who is patient, accepting, informed and offers a considerate approach. Caregivers of children who have social-emotional and behavior struggles, or have experienced trauma, also see a need for understanding, support, and progress in their child’s development.
As a therapist, I bring a strengths-based, non-judgmental approach with training in various research-based intervention tools that can be tailored specifically to your needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can address a wide range of issues through improved awareness and flexibility with your thoughts. In the step-by-step process with TF-CBT, I can work with youth ages 5-17 in 45-60 minute sessions over the course of 8 skill-building modules, during which I like to include caregivers as valuable sources of healthy support along the child’s path to recovery.
Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) strategies is another option for youth and adults who want to practice breaking down experiences related to trauma and adversity into more manageable parts to explore and process. As a trauma survivor, I can appreciate the energy and courage it takes to address the impact trauma can have on a person’s life, such as challenges with identity, behavior patterns, mental focus, emotional regulation, physical health, or relationship struggles. In addition, I have also seen how survivors can reach a point of feeling “recovered”, present-minded and a sense of hope and renewed strength. My hope is to safely assist you in finding, embracing, or enhancing your unique inner resources, at a supportive pace towards a healthier, upgraded version of you.
