My more is taking a breath. Breathe more. The breath allows us to pause and rest. It gives us a
moment to get in touch with our bodies, release tension, and refocus our energy. Inhale, exhale, more
often throughout the day. This is a simple practice that we take for granted. It seems so easy; we forget how important it is. Inhale. Exhale. Breathe more.
With nearly 10 years of experience in the field of Social Work, I have worked in a wide range of treatment settings with diverse and unique individuals and families. If you have trauma, depression, anxiety, or any issue that you need help with addressing, I will meet you where you’re at in the most non-judgmental way. I am trained in several evidence-based treatments and specialize in couple therapy, PTSD treatment, cognitive-behavioral, and strengths-based approaches. Below are just two of the several specialized therapies I am trained to deliver:
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a specific type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that has been effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD that have developed after experiencing a variety of traumatic events including child abuse, combat, rape and natural disasters. CPT is generally delivered over 12 sessions and helps patients learn how to challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs related to the trauma. In so doing, the patient creates a new understanding and conceptualization of the traumatic event so that it reduces its ongoing negative effects on current life. This treatment is strongly recommended for the treatment of PTSD.
Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy (CBCT) for PTSD improves the interpersonal environment in which our clients exist on a day-to-day basis and capitalizes on the support of their significant relationships while they endeavor PTSD treatment. In this way, CBCT for PTSD helps improve relationship issues we know so often co-occur with PTSD and capitalizes on the relationship to make each individual better. CBCT can be delivered over either 8 or 15 sessions with each session lasting 90 minutes. It involves weekly practice assignments that are to be completed individually and as a couple. If you and/or your partner suffers from PTSD, this is a wonderful treatment to help improve communication and understanding for those in intimate relationships while treating PTSD within the context of that relationship.
