It’s no secret that life doesn’t fight fair. At times, it can seem that nothing goes the way
we really want it to, no matter how well we plan. Fortunately, we were built to adapt and
recover quickly. It is our own resilience that dictates what happens next and not life’s
quirkiness or unpredictability.
Resilience is the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties. Many
believe that our trauma and negative experiences are what make us weak and
susceptible to more negativity in our life. This is not so as our adverse experiences
strengthen our resilience. Furthermore, life experience allows us to withstand difficult
situations and empowers us to handle life on our own terms with grace and self-
compassion.
My therapeutic style is interactive, direct and person centered. I use your abilities,
strengths, and intelligence to tap into your own superpowers to navigate solutions.
Together we will create goals for therapy that promote healthy changes in your life. I will
provide you with a judge free zone and allow you to work through problems in a safe
and supportive environment. I am simply the tour guide that has a different insight into
what you are experiencing. I believe collaboration is the best method for solving any
problem.
My training is in clinical mental health counseling and includes trauma-focused therapy.
I have worked as a substance abuse therapist for 2+ years and understand the hold that
addiction has on the mind, body, and soul. I am skilled in CBT, DBT, ACT, experiential
and exposure therapies. I do not have a one size fits all approach. I am skilled in
creating treatment plans that fit your specific experience and personality style. Further
experience includes medical trauma, first responders, veterans, personality disorders,
Complex PTSD, crisis management, grief, religious trauma, major depressive disorder,
anxiety, and depression.
I work with individuals 18+ who are struggling with addiction, trauma, and personality
disorders.
